$ombi announces new EP, ‘Wellen’, with dBridge, Jensen Interceptor, Yazzus remixes

$ombi has announced a new EP, ‘Wellen’, with remixes from dBridge, Jensen Interceptor and Yazzus.

Out on 24th February via Berlin-based label International Chrome, ‘Wellen’ sees the German producer/rapper/DJ rap in her native tongue to extol the virtues of “discovering and accepting yourself, and the inner peace that comes from it”.

The 12″ pays tribute to the maxi-single tradition with three killer remixes. The first remix comes from International Chrome’s own Jensen Interceptor who treats us to an “aquatic electro funk rewind” before dBridge dives into drum & bass and Detroit electro for his ‘Surging Mix’.

Meanwhile, Yazzus “ramps up the energy across the course of five minutes that return techno to its roots in Afrofuturism”. Check out the title track via Bandcamp below and pre-order the ‘Wellen’ vinyl here

During 2020, International Chrome launched a series of charity compilations called International Chromies and the first 11 volumes have so far raised funds for IRC In Yemen, Sami for Syria Mobile Hospitals, US Bail Funds, London-based food bank SUFRA as well as funding for Underground Music Academy, and School Of Bop – music academies working with young people in Detroit and London respectively. Last October, Yazzus released the video for ‘Three Deities’ off her recent debut EP for Tresor, ‘BLACK METROPOLIS’ and is set to play the first-ever festival from London queer party and record label Big Dyke Energy in Bristol this summer. Check out her Recognise mix here.

dBridge stepped up to remix Goldie’s ‘Inner City Life’ for the track’s 25th anniversary in 2020 while in 2022 the Exit Records boss collaborated with film composer and producer Madison Willing on a new EP, ‘Made In Silence’.
