Nia Archives launches Up Ya Archives label with Cheetah collab, ‘Get Loose’: Listen

Nia Archives has launched a new record label, Up Ya Archives, which will be devoted to the new generation of producers exploring jungle and other electronic sounds on the 150-170 BPM spectrum.

The label’s inaugural release comes from Bristol-based DJ and producer Cheetah, whose collaborative track with Archives, ‘Get Loose’, is inspired by soca music and primed for summer. You can watch a video for the new cut below.

In a statement, Cheetah said: “The track came together pretty naturally. It’s essentially an ode to soundsystem and party culture. It’s about that feeling of being completely one on one with the music, head buried into the rig and feeling the bass rattle your ribs. It’s all pretty simple but super energetic, the lyrics are literally an instruction. We took huge inspiration from soca letting the super energetic vocals take control of the track.”

Nia Archives added: “‘Get Loose’ is about getting loose with the gang. It’s us being care-free and not caring too much about what everyone else is up to, we just wanna have some fun!”

Nia Archives will also today (Friday, 25th April) launch the Up Ya Archives radio show on NTS, broadcasting from 5-6pm BST. She’ll be joined by Cheetah for the residency’s first edition as she introduces listeners to the new label and shares details on what’s to come. The two will also play music together b2b.

Up Ya Archives takes its name from the party series that Nia Archives has been putting on in the UK since 2021. She’ll be bringing the concept to the Chase & Status-headlined day of All Points East in London this year for a stage takeover.
