New vinyl festival, Egwú, debuts in Lagos this month

Lagos is set to host its first-ever vinyl festival this month.

Egwú Vinyl Festival debuts on Monday, 23rd December at Bature Brewery on Victoria Island and promises vinyl DJ sets and performance by Kikelomo, Kem Kem, Yinka Bernie, Dibs, headliner Sir Shina Peters and more.

According to a press release, the festival aims to celebrate iconic music genres from the 1970s onwards, offering a blend of live performances, vinyl-only DJ sets and activities. As well as the music, attendees can look forward to brand activations, exclusive merchandise games and a raffle draw.

Organisers described the event as “more than a festival—it’s a celebration of iconic genres of music from the ’70s and beyond.”

In an Instagram post, they wrote: “Get ready for an unforgettable night of timeless hits, vinyl DJ sets and an electrifying performance from the Afro-Juju pioneer and legend – Sir Shina Peters… Don’t miss your chance to dance, connect, and be part of history.” Check out the post below.

Tickets are available now.
