A new pair of audio-enabled trainers allow you to feel music in your feet.

LA-based DropLabs, who have developed the first sonic-sensory footwear, released their new trainer EP 01 in 2019. The shoe, fitted with patended technology, delivers audio from any connected bluetooth voice, creating full-body bass audio to simulate live events. The trainers can be used for music and movies, as well as VR and games.

The newest release of the EP 01, which is on sale now for $299.99, is titled the Triple Black Edition, and sees an all black exterior paired with the ground-breaking technology.

Susan Paley, CEO of DropLabs, has worked with Beats By Dre, said: “The embedded software platform allows us to continue to refine the experience and provide more unique customization at the individual level. We’ve developed a proprietary technology that we have integrated into the midsole of the sneaker that converts audio signals into vibrations. When these vibrations are delivered through your feet and synchronized with what you hear in your ears, it is a completely transformative experience for digital entertainment. Although initially envisioned to recreate the energy of live music, adding this immersion layer to gaming, movies and VR is next level.”

The shoes have six hours of battery life, are water resistant, and come with a one-year warranty.

In 2018, Roland collaborated with UNIQLO as part of the Japanese fashion brand’s UT graphic tee range, celebrating the 808. The designs were a limited edition clothing line from the company’s Brands-MASTERPIECE collection, which also partnered with the likes of Polaroid, Volkswagen, Ducati and audio company Kenwood. UNIQLO has also previously collaborated with Technics on a T-shirt celebrating the turntable brand’s famous SL-1200 model.
