Maceo Plex releases new album, ‘’93’, shares accompanying film: Watch
Maceo Plex has released his new album, ’93’. Listen to the album, and watch its accompanying movie, below.
The Cuban-American producer and DJ’s third studio LP is something of a surprise release and was originally slated to land in February. Instead, fans can now grab a copy from today, Thursday 14th December, through the Lone Romantic imprint.
The title nods to the artist’s three decade involvement in the electronic music community and industry, with early introductions around 1993 when he was in his mid-teens. In the years between then and now, Plex, real name Eric Estornel, has been associated with diverse styles, including his celebrate Mariel Ito electro alias.
Stylistically, his new body of work reflects this, blending bass, techno, breaks, electronica, hip hop and house. A number of high profile collaborations feature, including Perry Farrell of alternative rock icons Jane’s Addiction, Tyler Hill, Desire, Cubicolor, Kirsty Hawkshaw, Mystic Bill, AVNU, Giovanni, and Ishi.
In addition to the record itself, a film has also been unveiled, charting the story of how the album came about. You can find this below the embed of the first single, ’93’.
