King Britt's Blacktronika university class announces Theo Parrish, Flying Lotus, Amp Fiddler, more for autumn term
News
King Britt has revealed the list of guests for the upcoming autumn term of his Blacktronika: Afrofuturism In Electronic Music course at the University Of California, San Diego.
The music-focused course, which is available to all UCSD students, looks at “the lineage of many of the groundbreaking Black, electronic artists who have been integral but overlooked in the development and commodification of house, techno, drum & bass and experimental music,” says King Britt.
For the upcoming term, he will be joined by Flying Lotus, Theo Parrish, Amp Fiddler, Ron Trent, Masters At Work, Mad Professor, Elsa M’Bala, Computer Jay, Colloboh, Dave Davis and Yaw Evans.
Exact details have not yet been revealed on what form each artist’s involvement will take in the course, but some will lecture, while others will perform for students.
King Britt’s Blacktronika course has previously hosted the likes of Robert Hood and Honey Dijon. Find out more about the course in DJ Mag’s feature, from February of this year.
