Jungle veterans M-Beat and Missing announce collaborative mixtape as Bagatune, share single: Listen

M-Beat and Missing have teamed up for a new collaborative mixtape as Bagatune.

‘Fusion Without Formula’ is described in a press release as a “new brand, a platform for the next generation that brings ‘The Spirt of Jungle’ to the modern era. Like the original 92-94 jungle era, it’s about mashing up influences, breaking rules and creating new fusion sounds without following a format.

“Bagatune is inclusive, everyone is invited, no gatekeeping, no attitude, just good vibes and the spirit of togetherness that comes from the original rave era”.

The jungle veterans aka DJs Sam Gordon (Missing) and Marlon Hart (M-Beat) have shared the tape’s lead single ‘On/Off’, which features UK MC TeeZandos — who we spoke to back in 2021 as part of our Meet the MC series — and samples jungle classic ‘Atlantis’.

“‘On/Off’ is the perfect intro to Bagatune – TeeZandos is an artist we knew we wanted to work with for her energy, dynamic flow and open mind to work on a new fusion project. She’s taken a sound that inspired us back in the day and brought it to a new generation. She smashed it, and this is just a taste of what is to come,” continues the press release.

‘On/Off’ is out today via MOVES Recordings on the 30th anniversary of M-Beat’s seminal, General Levy-featuring track, ‘Incredible’. Watch DJ Mag’s recent video interview with Levy about the track here.
