Juke Bounce Werk opens submissions for new compilation, ‘JBDUBZ Vol. 9
News
Juke Bounce Werk has issued an open call for submissions to the label’s forthcoming compilation, ‘JBDUBZ Vol. 9’.
The Los Angeles-based imprint is inviting new talent and established artists, both known and unknown to the crew, to send in footwork, juke, and jungle-oriented music for consideration. All submissions must be received by 1st October 2021 at the following email address, using the subject header ‘JBDUBZ9’: [email protected]
Tracks are donated to the album, with any revenue received coming from donations that will be used to pay for production of the release, merchandise, and events.
“Last year, we released our largest and most celebrated compilation to date! The process of curating these compilations continues to expose us to untapped talent as well as host long-time friends and family to celebrate a year of experimentation and progress. Last year’s beast of a compilation saw participants from all over the world,” a Juke Bounce Werk Twitter post reads.
The previous instalment, ‘JBDUBZ Vol.8’, featured the likes of Bored Lord, Nikki Nair, DJ Earl, and Tomu DJ, among others, and featured in DJ Mag’s Bandcamp Essentials when it landed in December. The series began in 2014, with Juke Bounce Werk launched 12 months prior by Jae Drago, Sonic D, and DJ Noir. Last year the latter penned an in-depth feature on the 160 movement and appropriation of Black culture through language. This Saturday, 4th September, the label, which featured in DJ Mag’s August music columns, has a showcase at Music Center LA with Jlin, DJ Clent, and DJ Corey on the bill.
JBDUBZ VOL 9 submissions are NOW OPEN!
