While no cause of death has been given, Sims’ death was confirmed on social media by her family. Her sister, Annette Ramsey, said her “heart is broken,” and wrote on Facebook: “I will always remember the happy times we’ve shared, the love and support you have given me will not go in vain. I Love you Big Sis RIP.”
The events organiser CJ Carlos said: “Having spoken to her immediate family tonight, it’s with a heavy heart that I post this news Joyce Sims has passed away. Joyce was an amazing singer songwriter who had so many hits in the 80s.”
