Jacques Greene compiles unreleased and classic tracks on new release, 'ANTH01'

News

Jacques Greene is lining up a compilation of unreleased and classic tracks of his.

The release, titled ‘ANTH01’ and forthcoming on LuckyMe, collects a number of early, out of print tracks from his back catalogue, with the music featured across the compilation spanning the first decade of his career.

Classic tracks such as ‘The Look’, ‘Another Girl’ and ‘By Your Side’ all feature in remastered form, in addition to collaborations with the likes of Koreless and How To Dress Well.

The music featured on the 12-track release originally came out on labels such as Night Slugs, 3024 and Greene’s own Vase imprint, and appeared collected together in one place for the first time on this compilation.

In a statement about the release, Greene said: “Time became quite slippery in the past year and a half. As the years go it’s strange how some things feel like just yesterday while others are seemingly lifetimes away.

“It was equal parts challenging and fun to revisit some of this material that laid the foundation for this Jacques Greene project. ‘ANTH01’ is a form of anthology: a collection of songs meant to tell the first few chapters of that story. From bedroom studios in the Mile End in Montreal at the start of the 2010s to now. Thank you for listening.”

Ahead of the release on 22nd October, Greene has also shared one of the two previously unreleased tracks from the compilation: ‘I Won’t’. Check it out below.
