International dance music festival, Beats For Beds, to raise money for homeless charities

News

A festival, focused on raising money for charities that deal with homelessness, is set to take place this December.

Beats For Beds will spread across multiple global locations, and encompass a three-day live stream with ticketed events taking place in London, Manchester, Leeds, Melbourne, British Columbia and elsewhere.

The three England-based events will take place at Manchester’s The Carlton Club on 17th December, London’s Werkhaus on 18th December, and, finally, Leeds’ Belgrave Music Hall on 19th December. In Manchester, Mr. Scruff and Ruf Dug will play b2b for the first time as ScruffDug, while Friendly Fires will play a DJ set at the London event, with Justin Robertson also appearing on the bill. Man Power and PBR Streetgang will play in Leeds.

The events will raise money for homelessness charity Shelter, while proceeds from parties in other nations will go to homelessness charities in their respective countries.

Edward Tomlinson, founder of Beats For Beds, said in a statement: “As a society we should make sure we look after  the most unfortunate. It’s wrong to have billionaires blasting into space for kicks yet there are an estimated 150 million people without a home globally. Beats for Beds wants to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for homeless charities around the world.”

For those that can’t attend in person,  each event will be streamed live via Mixcloud here in a continuous stream from midday on 17th December until midnight on 19th December. You can also donate here.
