Ibiza Underground shut by police “without any prior notification”

Ibiza Underground has been closed by police “without any prior notification.”

As RA reports, local authorities arrived at the address “without warning” on Tuesday 6th August to force closure. A Zero Island Residents event had been due to take place.

“The police just closed down the club without any prior notification, so tonight’s event is cancelled,” read an Instagram Story shared by Ibiza Underground at the time. “We’ll notify you of further developments.”

“Dear family, than you so much for your message of support, it really means a lot,” a subsequent post on Wednesday 7th August said. “We have no news to share with you as of yet. For now we do not know when and if we can re-open. We are trying to find a way and hopefully we will succeed.”

According to an official statement, the team do not know when or if they will be able to reopen the club. The venue celebrated its 23rd anniversary last month. Popular with hospitality, club and event workers, Ibiza Underground usually runs three nights a week throughout the summer, welcoming high-profile guests but rarely announcing its line-ups.
