Honey Dijon details new album, ‘Black Girl Magic’

Honey Dijon has shared the details of her forthcoming album, ‘Black Girl Magic’, which will be released via Classic Music Company on 18th November.

The announcement comes days after the release of a new single, ‘Show Me Some Love’, featuring Channel Tres, which you can hear below.

The long-anticipated, 15-track new album features collaborations with artists including EVE, Josh Caffé, Mike Dunn,  Hadiya George and others. That album was made alongside Classic’s Luke Solomon and regular collaborator, Chris Penny.

Previously released singles from the album include, ‘Work’, ’Not About You’, ‘Downtown’, ‘Beyond’, ‘La Femme Fantastique’ and ‘Love Is A State Of Mind’.

Speaking about the album, Honey said: “This album is dedicated to love. Love of music, community, but most of all the love of self. Being true to who you are in spite of everything else and having the courage to love fearlessly.”

The album’s artwork is designed by British sculptor Jam Sutton, whose 3D sculptural digital renderings of Honey have also featured on the covers for all the single’s preceding the album’s release. Speaking about his work on the project, he said: “It was such a pleasure collaborating with Honey on a series of sculptures. Honey visited my studio where we spent an entire day discussing life and creativity. During this time, I captured a series of form studies using 3D scanning.”

The announcement of the album’s release comes in the same week as Honey unveiling her forthcoming residency at Berghain’s Panorama Bar, which kicks off in October.
