Honey Dijon announces !K7 DJ-Kicks mix

Honey Dijon has been enlisted to oversee the next instalment of the long-running !K7 DJ-Kicks mix series.

The US DJ’s 19-track selection, which represents her first commercially available mix, will be released digitally on 18th October, while a special gatefold vinyl LP featuring select tracks from the set will also be made available on the same date.

The mix represents a number of acts from Dijon’s native of Chicago, including music from the key ghetto house label Dance Mania. Newer cuts from Wajeed and Kiko Navarro also appear within the set.

Speaking about her approach to putting together her DJ-Kicks mix, Dijon said: “I’m a huge fan of research. So putting this compilation together was basically going into my dancefloor experience and finding gems I wanted to present to people that they may not have been familiar with or that they didn’t even know existed.”

In addition to an intro track made by Dijon herself, she has also made another new, exclusive cut for the mix, the Ben Westbeech-featuring ‘Finding My Way’, which will additionally appear in standalone form on the vinyl release.

Honey Dijon’s contribution to the DJ-Kicks series follows DJ Boring’s mix, which came out in July, as well as a set from HAAi, which was released last November.
