Damon Albarn has shared a piano tribute to the late De La Soul artist Trugoy the Dove. Watch the video below.

The Gorillaz bandleader posted a clip to his Instagram yesterday, 13th February, of a short piano piece with the caption, “A loop for Dave. I love you”. News of the death of De La Soul founding member David Jude Jolicoeur, better known as Trugoy the Dove, broke this past weekend, after a representative for the trio confirmed to the press.

Joliocoeur collaborated with Gorillaz on the animated group’s 2005 breakout single ‘Feel Good Inc’. De La Soul also features on ‘Crocadillaz’, a bonus track on Japanese CD and international digital releases of Gorillaz’ upcoming album, ‘Cracker Island‘, out 24th February.

Pharrell Williams, Chuck D, King Britt and Nightmares On Wax were among the many sharing tributes to the late influential artist. Read more here.
