London venue Space289 has announced the line-ups for its reopening party series, kicking off at the end of this month.
The 200-capacity Bethnal Green club will reopen for the first time since March 2020 on 29th July with live sets from Qendresa and RADA, and a DJ set from OK WIlliams. More names booked to play in the venue throughout August include Perc, Manni Dee, Space Afrika, Silvia Kastel, Martha and Flora Yin-Wong, who also co-curated the reopening events.
Space 289 originally opened in October 2019 with the aim of providing “a relaxed, inclusive and immersive environment for artists and audiences”. Before shutting its doors for over a year due to Covid-19, the venue welcomed artists including Loraine James, ShyGirl, Bendik Giske, Jessy Lanza & Ariwo, and has worked with promoters and platforms including Threads Radio, Parallel Lines, Baba Yaga’s Hut, Upset The Rhythm and more.
The club will be implementing a Covid-19 safety policy for all visitors. Guests must show a negative PCR or lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of attending to enter. Guests and staff will be encouraged to wear masks, though it will not be mandatory.
