EQ50's drum & bass mentorship programme opens registration for 2022
EQ50 has opened registration for a second run of its mentorship programme.
Originally launched in 2020, the project was established to support women and non-binary people aspiring to launch or further a career within the drum & bass scene. Much like 2020’s inaugural edition, the second run of the programme will be spread across 12 months and see five producers given support.
The programme will run with support from drum & bass label figureheads such as Rupture LDN, 1985 Music, The North Quarter and AudioPorn, while popular D&B-focused website Drum & Bass Arena is also a partner. Previous participants in EQ50’s mentorship programme include Nia Archives, Mandidextrous, Athena, Anikonik, Spectral and Charla Green.
EQ50 says that people who apply should be “serious about a career in drum and bass” and “ambitious with a good level of production skills”. Applications are open to people worldwide until 23.59pm UK time on 1st November. You can apply here.
Launched in 2018, EQ50 has since been campaigning to improve diversity within the D&B scene across promoters, DJs, producers and other elements of the industry. This has seen the team behind it – which includes Mantra and DJ Flight – host workshops and webinars, as well as its debut mentorship scheme in 2020.
