Electronic music record store, Recycle Vinyl, opens East London branch

Recycle Vinyl has opened a new record shop in Dalston, East London, marking its second location after its original store in Elland, West Yorkshire.

Located on Birkbeck Mews, the shop is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, offering thousands of new and second-hand records, CDs and tapes, alongside a fully licensed bar.

The Dalston branch aims to bring the same ethos as the Yorkshire store, which the team described as “not trying to be cool or follow any of the latest trends” but instead creating “an environment where people can dig and not be judged or pushed into buying things.” They added, “We’re more like the B&M of the dance world, not cool but you always end up buying more than you went in for.”

Recycle Vinyl celebrated its opening with a launch party featuring Jerome Hill last month. The new space also features four seated listening stations, making it an inviting spot for digging through its extensive collection.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the team wrote, “Our Dalston shop is open now with over 10,000 electronic dance music records, both new and second-hand, CDs, tapes, and 4 seated listening stations.”
