DJ Boring announces !K7 DJ-Kicks mix, shares ‘You Luv Me’: Listen

DJ Boring has announced his contribution to the celebrated DJ-Kicks mix series. You can listen to his new single, ‘You Luv Me’, which features on the release, below.

Available on CD and vinyl from 12th July via !K7, the collection boasts exclusive tracks by Bambounou, Leo Pol, Matisa and Cameo Blush. Work from other artists including Burnski, Shanti Celeste, Pariah, Anthony Naples, Sally C, and Rampa also features, with the sounds moving from dreamy ambient to tougher techno.

“Trying to compile this put me in a pretty strange headspace. To be honest, I was trying to compile a vast range of stuff so I just needed to be on my own to focus on it. I stayed in one day and then finished it off in my studio,” said DJ Boring.

“Then I just totally zoned in – it all came spilling out of me,” Hallis continued. “At first, I was going to do something completely different — it was just going to be dance music. But I think a lot of people like the at-home listening aspect, and that really resonated with me. It’s what I enjoy. I want people to feel that they can put the mix on at the start of their night, while they’re cooking dinner, before ramping up a bit before going out.”

In addition to his DJ-Kicks mix, DJ Boring also has a string of festival dates scheduled for the coming months. This weekend he plays Parklife in Manchester (9/6), before hitting Glastonbury (27/6), Tomorrowland in Belgium (28/7), and Dutch institution Loveland (10/8). A number of US dates have also been confirmed, including Substation in Seattle (22/8), San Francisco’s Audio (24/8), and ARC Festival, Chicago (1/9).
