Depeche Mode share new single and video, ‘Ghosts Again’, detail new album: Watch
Depeche Mode have released a new single ‘Ghost Again’ from their upcoming album ‘Memento Mori’. Check it out below.
The new single from the legendary English electronic band’s 15th full-length album to date also comes paired with its own music video. The four-minute clip shows members Dave Gahan and Martin Gore playing chess on a rooftop juxtaposed against a city skyline, as well as performing together in a cemetery.
The single’s release lands alongside new information about the band’s new album, which will be released on March 24 through Columbia. ‘Momento Mori’ marks the group’s first LP since the passing of founding member Andy Fletcher last year.
When initially teasing the new album last year, Gore said: “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”
“Fletch would have loved this album,” added Gahan.
The group kick off a world tour next month, with live shows across North America and Europe, starting in Sacramento, California, on 23rd March. An arena tour will take place across Europe this summer, with the band headlining Primavera Sound 2023.
In 2020, Depeche Mode were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
