Daft Punk limited edition vinyl sells for $2,139 on Discogs

A limited edition vinyl box set copy of Daft Punk’s 2014 album ‘Random Access Memories’ was one of the 30 most expensive items sold on Discogs in March of this year.

Fetching $2,139, the sale of the box set followed the news earlier this year that Daft Punk were splitting after 29 years as a duo. This particular edition of ‘Random Access Memories’ included the full original album pressed across two vinyl records, as well as an interview between Daft Punk and producer Giorgio Moroder pressed on a ten-inch vinyl record. Finally, the release includes the full album, as well as some assorted videos from the album’s release, on a USB memory stick.

This particular sale follows on from a rare copy of Daft Punk’s 2001 album ‘Discovery’ being sold for $2,380 via Discogs in February.

A Los Angeles Times report recently revealed that the artist behind the lead sample used in Daft Punk’s ‘One More Time’ has never received any royalties from the track.
