Coco Em shares new single, ‘Winyo Nungo’, featuring MC Sharon and Wuod Baba: Listen

Coco Em has shared a new single, ‘Winyo Nungo’, featuring MC Sharon and Wuod Baba.

Out today via InFiné, ‘Winyo Nungo’ is the second single from the Nairobi DJ and producer’s forthcoming debut EP, ‘Kilumi’, which is due for release on 21st April. The artist took inspiration from rap, grime, amapiano, Afro-house, and more for the track. Check out the single below.

“The fire bars by these two MCs were delivered entirely in their mother tongue ‘Luo’,” says Em of the single. “Wuod Baba was the first to approach me for a possible collaboration. I listened to a lot of amapiano in 2020 when I made this and Wuod Baba was open to trying out a different genre from rap music.”

Em joins labelmates Deena Abdelwahed, Sabrina Bellaouel, and Rone at the Paris and Berlin-based imprint InFiné. The ‘Kilumi’ EP (Kamba sacred drum songs and dance) “explores elements of different sounds that kept me going in a very difficult year”, she says.
