Calvin Harris and Clementine Douglas link up for new single, ‘Blessings’: Listen
Calvin Harris has released a new single, ‘Blessings’, with UK vocalist Clementine Douglas. Listen to it below.
The new track brings the Scottish producer back to his dance music base, after veering country with this last single, ‘Smoke The Pain Away‘, released in March. For the vocals, he’s tapped Birmingham-born, Brighton-based singer, producer and songwriter Clementine Douglas.
Fans have picked up on ‘Blessings” similarities to the music of Chicane, most notably his 1996 trance hit ‘Offshore’ and the 2000 single ‘Don’t Give Up‘ with Bryan Adams. Nick Bracegirdle, aka Chicane himself, commented “I would like to thank Calvin Harris for making me current again…….” under one of Harris’ Instagram videos of him working on ‘Blessings’ in the studio. Calvin Harris’s weekend Instagram post, in which he’s holding a chicken, to promote the single release may also hint at that connection.
Coming up at the end of the month, Calvin Harris will begin his Ushuaïa Ibiza 2025 “double residency”, running through mid-September. Featured guests include Fatboy Slim, Patrick Topping, Romy, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, MK, Dom Dolla and more.
Clementine Douglas won the Breakthrough MC/Vocalist title at the 2024 DJ Mag Best of British Awards. This is her third feature of the year, following ‘Tell Me‘ with Sonny Fodera and ‘Knock Knock‘ with MJ Cole. She also released a ‘Stripped Back’ version of her 2024 single ‘True‘.
Last November, Niamh O’Connor caught up with Clementine Douglas to talk about making her own music, her recent sold-out UK tour, third solo single ‘True’ and more.
