Brooklyn Mirage postpones Memorial Day weekend shows amid ongoing reopening delays
The reopening of Brooklyn Mirage has been postponed again.
The club was due to resume activities this coming Memorial Day weekend following extensive renovations. Its initial reopening date of 1st May was previously postponed and further delays were announced on 7th May, resulting in the relocation and rescheduling of several shows by the likes of Sara Landry, Loud Luxury and Cloonee.
The team behind Avant Gardner, the event complex in East Williamsburg that houses Brooklyn Mirage, shared a statement on Instagram apologising for the continued delay and affirmed they are “making great progress towards opening our doors”.
“We take responsibility for the delay and are working diligently with the City of New York to make sure that we meet all regulations and requirements, so that we can deliver a safe and unforgettable experience for everyone,” they wrote.
“We deeply appreciate the patience and support of our community as we work 24/7 to bring you the groundbreaking experience we promised with the new Brooklyn Mirage,” they added.
All Memorial Day weekend shows have been moved to July and August. The Chainsmokers were due to play two headline shows this weekend, which have now been rescheduled for August 7th and 8th.
Brooklyn Mirage has confirmed that ticket holders will be issued full refunds if they are unable to attend the rescheduled dates. Information on refunds and rescheduled shows will be sent via SMS and email.
The venue is in the process of undergoing extensive renovation work and has been closed since early 2025. Works include an upgrade to its sound system and expanding the dancefloor capacity from 5,500 to 6,250. Three VIP mezzanines and two further dancefloors have also been added.
As Billboard previously reported, a close source to the situation alleged that New York Mayor Eric Adams’ office has previously stepped in on behalf of Avant Gardner as part of an ongoing legal battle with New York’s State Liquor Authority (SLA).
The SLA has reportedly threatened to revoke Brooklyn Mirage’s liquor license several times. A meeting, which included representatives from the governor’s office, had to be established in the past to settle the dispute. Adams’ office hasn’t got involved this time though, leaving Brooklyn Mirage with an uncertain period ahead as it seeks to reopen its doors.
In a February interview with EDM.com, Avant Gardner CEO Josh Wyatt promised “a set design that will blow you away… The type of technology that we’re designing to be able to allow us to do that is bespoke and has never been done before—I think it’s pretty mind-blowing.”
Avant Gardner & Brooklyn Mirage was voted No.17 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll for 2025.
