Armin Van Buuren’s 1999 trance hit ‘Communication’ gets vinyl reissue

Armin Van Buuren’s classic trance track ‘Communication’ is getting a vinyl reissue, slated for release 31st May.

‘Communication’ was initially released 19th July 1999, and proved to be a pivotal release for the Dutch DJ and producer, quickly becoming a fan favourite.

The track was initially pressed on a 12” vinyl by the Dutch imprint Cyber Records. It gained notable success in the UK upon release and served as the lead single from Armin van Buuren’s debut studio album, ’76’, released in 2003.

Across its 25-year lifespan, the trance anthem has seen numerous reworks, including ‘Communication Part 2’, which dropped in 2000, and ‘Communication Part 3’, which dropped back in 2007, serving as the fourth single of Armin’s compilation ‘10 Years’. All three versions will be included on the new reissue.

Taking to social media to announce the reissue, van Buuren posted: “What does ‘Communication’ mean to you? For me, it’s one of the tracks that marked the start of my career, and I still love playing it live! Now it’s already turning 25 years old! Can you believe that?! To celebrate this I’m releasing all 3 parts of ‘Communication’ on vinyl.”

It’s been a busy year for van Buuren already. Last month he released a new collaborative single, ‘What Took You So Long’, marking the debut collaboration between the two artists.

Back in February, he teased a new track he’d made with Hardwell, called ‘Follow The Light’. You can watch his set from this year’s Ultra Miami here. He also recently appeared at Tomorrowland Winter alongside the likes of ANNA and Steve Aoki, you can watch his set from that festival here

Available for pre-order now via Armada Music, the vinyl reissue will include all three versions of ‘Communication’, pressed on a double-sided translucent purple 12” vinyl. The release is limited to 1000 copies and is priced at €25,99 – secure your copy here
