Armin van Buuren: ‘Ultra provides the perfect stage to unite trance fans from around the world’

Armin van Buuren has described Ultra Miami as “one of [his] favourite festivals” ahead of the 2025 event.

The Dutch DJ and producer will bring his A State of Trance stage back to the Magic City event later this month, with DJ sets coming from Oliver Heldens, Maddix, Nifra, Ruben de Ronde, and Schrotthagen.

“Hosting the A State of Trance stage here each year is always an incredible experience,” he told DJ Mag. “ASOT is all about uniting trance fans from around the world, and Ultra provides the perfect stage to celebrate that. I always try to bring something special for the crowd, like Jon Bon Jovi joining me on stage last time, and this year will be no different. I can’t wait to make it another unforgettable edition.”

The mammoth 25th anniversary edition of Ultra will run Friday 28th through to Sunday 30th March at its usual Bayfront Park home. van Buuren is set to play b2b with Maddix and Oliver Heldens on the Worldwide Stage during the opening day, whilst Dom Dolla and John Summit will headline the iconic Main Stage, performing under their Everything Always moniker.

The following evening, Hardwell tops the bill after sets from Anyma b2b Solomon, Skrillex and Axwell. The final night will see Martin Garrix, Zedd, Morton and Sonny Fodera on the same sound system. Other notable performances are likely to include Pendulum b2b Deadmau5 on the Saturday night, and Skrillex’s first solo performance at Ultra Miami in a decade.

RESISTANCE — the festival’s techno-driven area — looks similarly stacked, with Charlotte de Witte and Solomun topping Friday and Sunday bills respectively. Saturday will feature the debut of Carl Cox’s Evolution concept, following Richie Hawtin’s DEX EFX XOX and live sets from Stephan Bodzin, Dubfire, Marc Romboy, and Christopher Coe, who will join Cox on stage. You can see the full line-up breakdown below.

Tickets for the event have now completely sold out, including VIP packages, but fans can tune-in for Ultra’s extensive live stream programme which runs throughout the weekend. Broadcasts will include sets from Georgia Angiuli, Bou, Andy C, Camelphat, Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, Oliver Heldens, Patrick Mason, Hi-Lo b2b Eli Brown, Nora En Pure, and Afrojack, among others.

Ultra Miami is toasting its 25th anniversary with a new documentary series. The 25-episode YouTube series, which kicked off in October with ‘Open the Gates’, promises to “relive the most iconic memories, artists, and moments from our history”.
