Armin van Buuren plays surprise pop-up set at Rotterdam Centraal station ahead of ASOT Festival: Watch

Armin van Buuren played a surprise set at Rotterdam Centraal railway station this week ahead of his ASOT (A State of Trance) Festival. You can watch footage from the unannounced gig below.

The ticket hall of the city’s main transport terminus was transformed into a dancefloor for the unannounced pop-up event yesterday, Wednesday 19th February.

Tomorrow (21st) sees the beginning of the two-day A State of Trance Festival at the Rotterdam Ahoy convention centre and indoor arena complex. Running Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd February, this year includes a five-hour set from van Buuren. The ASOT boss will also play back-to-backs with ARTBAT and recent collaborator Ben Helmsley, and a “world exclusive face-to-face” with Maddix.

Other names on the line-up include Adam Beyer, AVIRA, SUPERSTRINGS and Giuseppe Ottaviani. Meanwhile, fans will also be able to attend interactive sessions, workshops and “behind the scenes experiences” at the Mainport Hotel. Serving as a hub for the weekend, the idea is to bridge the gap between artists and audience and emphasise the importance of community at ASOT.

At the time of writing, the festival is close to selling out, with limited tickets, including VIP passes, remaining. You can find full information on these here. Those who can’t be there still have a chance to watch the action unfold through the ASOT YouTube Channel, which will livestream Area 1 and Area 2 over both days.

Next month, van Buuren joins a stacked list of artists at Ultra Miami. And you can still listen back to his 113-track A State of Trance Year Mix: 2024.
