Apple launches AirPods Pro 2
Apple has unveiled its new Airpods Pro 2, the latest noise-cancelling earbuds that follow the original 2019 model.
Powered by Apple’s new H2 chip, the AirPods Pro 2 are built with a new low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier, offering “richer bass and crystal-clear sound across a wider range of frequencies”. The new in-ear fit features an extra small ear tip and the headphones promise even better noise cancellation, reducing loud environmental noise like construction work.
Other updates include an extended battery life of up to 1.5 hours, personalised spatial audio, and touch controls. The storage case also now comes fitted with a small lanyard clip on the side.
“AirPods revolutionized the wireless headphone category with an innovative design and incredible sound quality. With the new AirPods Pro, Apple raises the bar once again,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of worldwide product marketing. “The new AirPods Pro deliver even better sound quality, a more immersive listening experience with Personalized Spatial Audio, and transformative audio features like Adaptive Transparency. With up to double the noise-cancelling power of their predecessor, the world’s bestselling wireless headphones just got even better.”
AirPods Pro (2nd generation) are now available to order online, with availability in stores from 23rd September. They’re priced at £249. Order from Apple here.
Back in June, Apple announced the arrival of its next-generation M2 chip and MacBook Pro line, with a “strikingly thin” MacBook Air redesign and “new levels of power-efficient performance and capabilities”.
