An Avicii Experience museum is set to open in Stockholm next year.

Opening as a tribute to the late EDM artist, real name Tim Bergling, the Avicii Experience museum present exhibits documenting Bergling’s rise from a bedroom producer to one of electronic music’s biggest stars.

The museum will also feature music, in the form unreleased material used as the foundations for the posthumous Avicii album ‘TIM’, as well as early versions of ‘Levels’. SPACE, a digital culture center, opening in the Swedish city in 2021 and combining gaming, music, and content creation, will play home to the Avicii Experience Museum.

A portion of proceeds from the Avicii Experience will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation. “At SPACE we will carry out activities focusing on youth, with the aim to have an open and inclusive dialogue in regards to mental health,” says Klas Bergling, Bergling’s father and co-founder of the Tim Bergling Foundation alongside his wife, Anki Lidén.

The Tim Bergling Foundation advocates for the recognition of suicide as a global health emergency and promotes removing the stigma attached to the discussion of mental health issues. It supports science-based organizations that engage in research into the causes and prevention of suicide, particularly for young people.

Last month, Belgian festival Tomorrowland named Avicii’s ‘Levels’ the biggest track in Tomorrowland history.

Avicii’s ‘TIM’ won the award for Best Album at this year’s International Dance Music Awards.
