Amaarae shares video for new single, ‘SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY Remix’: Watch

Amaarae has shared the video to a new remix of ‘SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY’. Check it out below.

The Ghanaian artist originally teamed up with Colombian-American singer-songwriter Kali Uchis for the first edition of the track. Now, fellow Ghanaian vocalist Moliy joins the pair for a fresh new version, which arrives in the wake of ‘Bad Bitchez/Sad Girlz of Wall Street’.

Originally taken from Amaarae’s debut full length, ‘The Angel You Don’t Know’, which landed in 2020, the new rework sees Kali delivering bilingual lines to an instrumental that veers between Latin and afro-pop tones. Meanwhile, the video, directed by Remi Laudat, who has created a high tech visual counterpoint to the music itself.

Speaking about the remix, Amaarae said: “‘SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY’ was already a magical song with myself and Moliy, but Kali takes it to a new dimension. I’m excited to have her on the remix.

“I’ve loved her music since she first appeared on the scene with Drunken Babble, so to be able to work on this with her was amazing and she kills her verse! I think the Sad Girlz Worldwide are going to love this.”

“I love this song so much and was honoured when Ama asked me to be a part of this. She deserves all the success and blessings coming her way,” added Kali.

In May 2021, Amaarae appeared in DJ Mag’s Meet the MC feature series. The same month, she was among the guest curators enlisted for NTS Radio’s tenth birthday celebrations.
