AIAIAI announces “world’s first” wireless DJ headphones
AIAIAI has announced the TMA-2 DJ Wireless, which the Danish audio company calls the “world’s first” wireless DJ headphones.
The new headphones are specifically designed for DJing and offer 25 hours of battery life and high sound isolation for noisy booth environments. While consumer headphones have been wireless for many years, they often use the Bluetooth protocol, meaning there is significant latency between the source and the headphone audio. While this isn’t an issue for music listening, for DJing, where timing is everything, it’s meant that Bluetooth headphones aren’t suitable for cueing as they’ll be out of sync with the monitoring.
TMA-2 DJ Wireless gets around this issue by using its proprietary hardware, which plugs into the headphone port on any DJ mixer or controller and sends the signal to the headphones latency-free. Speaking about the new wireless cans, AIAIAI founder Frederik Jørgensen said, “For years, wireless technology meant compromising on performance, but with our ultra-low latency wireless technology, we are finally able to deliver a solution that offers both freedom and precision.”
The TMA-2 DJ Wireless can also be used in Bluetooth mode for music listening and via cable if needed. The headphones will cost €300 and will be shipping in early 2025. Find out more on the AIAIAI website.
In 2021, AIAIA started its wireless journey with the TMA-2 Studio Wireless+ lossless wireless studio headphones, as well as the Unit-4 Wireless+ studio monitors.
