New course for young aspiring MCs, rappers and singers launches in Bristol

A new artist development scheme for young aspiring MCs, rappers, and singers has launched in Bristol.

Co-produced with Big Team, the charity run by the organisers of Bristol festival Love Saves The Day, and Bristol Beacon, Next Level offers applicants (aged 18-25) a week-long studio experience and a potential live gig at Love Saves The Day 2022.

Having partnered with some of Bristol’s best-loved names in music – including SWU FM and Crack Magazine – Big Team have also rallied a raft of professional producers and vocalists, including Sam Interface, N.Y.T.A, Fiyahdred, Eva Lazarus, Dread MC, and Res One.

During the studio sessions, artists will be given the opportunity to present demos, write new material, collaborate through co-writing and rehearse. Apply for Next Level here by 28th March at 5pm GMT.

Big Team aims to “open up the sector” to burgeoning artists primarily aged 16-24 “who would usually face social or economic barriers to access,” and “address issues of underrepresentation in the sector’s workforce and audiences.”
