There’s a festival in a limestone cave in Vietnam in April

A festival will take place in a limestone cave in Vietnam this April.

Between 8th-10th April, Equation Festival will take place deep in the 25-meter high Mỏ Luông, a natural limestone cave filled with imposing stalactites, situated in the northern mountain town of Mai Chau. It comes after a different Vietnamese festival, Club Savage, hosted a three-day festival in the cave last April.

Set to take place approximately three hours away from the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, the boutique festival will feature an array of artists base across North and Southeast Asia, including Di Linh, Sunju, Hargun, Emel Rowe, DOTT ,Ouissam, Zwi, Saint Guel and Janko. The full line-up and programme will be announced on 1st March.

The festival is returning after a four-year hiatus. In a statement, Equation organisers said: “We are extremely proud to come out again, to reconnect and share with you the joy of announcing a new musical journey with some of the finest artists we have had the chance to meet in the region – as a celebration to our friendships.”

The foremost update should be about our new haven in Mai Chau, which we found back in 2019 to be one of the best kept secrets of Vietnam,” they added. “Both the unusualness and intimacy it offers, from the beautiful outdoor space to the alluring cave, make the best location and inspire us to invite you to this spectacular experience, after we had the opportunity to explore the site last year with our dear sister Savage Hanoi on the occasion of (Re)treat.”

Tickets for the festival go on sale today (16th February).
