Seminal UK label 20/20 Vision celebrates 30 years of underground electronic music
Started in a farmhouse studio outside Leeds by Ralph Lawson & Carl Finlow, 20/20 Vision has gone on to be one of the most respected electronic music labels on the planet with a consistent output over three decades approaching 500 releases and 2000 tracks.
20/20 Vision was chosen as the label name for its meaning of ‘perfect vision’ being applied to music at a time when the house music scene was becoming divided into ever smaller categories. Anti-genre has been at the heart of the label, always bringing an array of eclectic flows, styles and sounds with an artist-focused approach.
Fast forward thirty years, the seminal record label now presents, Full Circle featuring highly sought rarities from the imprint sitting alongside new remixes, edits and unreleased versions. Full Circle Volume 1, which is out digitally on Feb 17th, features classics from Christian Löffler, Tuccillo, Art of Tones & the first ever 20/20 Vision record produced by Wulf n Bear – this first release simply features four classic moments in time.
Christian Löffler has become a major name in melodic techno and ambient music. His 2015 track York quickly became a club favourite, its melancholic theme and sparse arrangement standing the test of time. Tuccillo has delivered several key records for 20/20 Vision, but Sabotage remains a standout, its nostalgic melodies seamlessly following York, evoking a sense of nostalgia that touches the heartstrings.
Art of Tones, the beloved project of Ludovic Llorca, debuted on 20/20 Vision with a string of superb releases, culminating in Praise. A club staple since 2007, it remains an anthem for Honey Dijon, championed in her DJ Kicks compilation for K7. Full Circle Volume One is completed by 20/20 Vision’s original debutant Wulf n Bear – Space Groover. Fresh as it was 30 years ago, its playful fusion of New York beats, Detroit-influenced strings, and Yorkshire bass—enhanced by Carl Finlow’s swirling synths—cements its place in every electronic music lover’s collection.
20/20 Vision’s legacy of unforgettable events continues to grow, having already left its mark over the years on iconic dance floors—from Robert Johnson and fabric to Space Ibiza, Sub Club, Sonar Festival and beyond. There will be a series of Full Circle events taking place globally throughout the year including tour dates from South Africa to South America, Europe to Asia and many places in between with the next dates confirmed:
