Flying Lotus releases surprise EP, ‘Spirit Box’

Flying Lotus is back with a surprise new EP, ‘Spirit Box’.

Released via Warp Records, the new eight-track EP packs five original tracks – including two previously released singles, the Twin Peaks-inspired ‘Garmonbozia’ and house jam ‘Ingo Swann’ – and three instrumentals.

The EP also includes two features, one from Dawn Richard on ‘Let Me Cook’ and another from Indian musician Sid Sriram on ‘The Lost Girls’.

‘Spirit Box’ is the L.A producer’s first substantial release since last year’s collaborative release with Smoke DZA, ‘Flying Objects’, and his first solo release since ‘The Room’ in 2022.

Commenting on the release, the producer simply stated: “It is happening again”.

Away from his own music, Steven Ellison recently announced that he had created two ringtones for Apple, adding that they had been added to iPhones as early as the iOS13 update.
