Premiere: Soa420 ‘No Nerve’

On the heels of its debut various EP format release, ‘Baby Steps’, earlier this year, Beatrice M’s prolific label returns with a system-shaking new suite from Nantes-based Soa420. Part of the Zone Rouge collective, she delivers two original tracks, opening with the trappy dubstep title cut, ‘No Nerve’, which is paired with low-slung percussive workout, ‘There’s Fire Inside You’.
On the flip, Montreal mainstay Parts Project unveils a visceral broken techno remix of ‘No Nerve’, while Einerlei reimagines ‘There’s Fire…’ into a thundering dancefloor weapon. Berlin-based producer Ophélie rounds out the release with her own retextured interpretation of ‘There’s Fire…’ , introducing increasingly fractured beats and corrosive textures into the OG mix.
Beyond the studio, Soa420 nurtures her taste for trippy sonics as a resident DJ for Tissé collective, spotlighting Afro-descendant music in Soundsystem culture in Nantes. Find out about their upcoming events here.
