Swedish House Mafia play Tomorrowland for the first time since 2012

Swedish House Mafia have played their first set at Tomorrowland since 2012.

The group, formed of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, performed on the festival’s Mainstage, playing hits from throughout their career.

Hundreds of fireworks lit up the sky above Boom, Belgium as the trio dropped their 2012 smash-hit ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ and brand-new track ‘Lioness’ featuring Niki & The Dove.

Although all three members have played at Tomorrowland over the past 12 years, they haven’t all performed together as Swedish House Mafia at the festival during that time.

Their previous performance in 2012 formed part of a landmark year for the trio, and was a key moment in Tomorrowland’s self-proclaimed “breakthrough year”.

Due to appear on Swedish House Mafia’s forthcoming second album, ‘Lioness’ was first teased by Ingrosso at Coachella in April. The group’s six-week residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza begins this Sunday.

DJ Mag is reporting live from Tomorrowland all weekend to celebrate 20 years of the World’s No. 1 festival. Follow #DJMagTomorrowland on Instagram for backstage interviews, photos and more.
