Or:la announces debut album, ‘Trusting Theta’, on fabric Originals, shares ‘Chant’: Listen
Or:la will release her debut album, ‘Trusting Theta’, this autumn.
Out on 20th September via fabric Originals, the record is inspired by Irish and Greek mythology and “sapphic love, friendship, and defiance against the still-never-ending injustices against the feminine”.
Speaking about the album, Or:la said: “‘Trusting Theta’ is a message about trusting the process, guided by the subconscious finding its way out to the conscious via theta waves and dream states. It takes our quiet conversations, intimate moments, and mournful prayers projecting them out into the world in the style of a Julia Child hosted cooking show.”
Along with the album’s announcement, Or:la has shared the second single from the album, ‘Chant,’ which features the artist’s own vocals and lyrics. In ‘Chant’, she reminisces on her time living in London and being around the socialites in the scene’s nightlife.
“It’s a chant about snakes in the grass and it’s the first track where I’ve explicitly used my voice and my own lyrics,” she explained in an Instagram caption.
Earlier this year, Or:la made her debut on fabric Originals with a three-track EP called ‘Moonlight Crush.’
