Blip Discs passes all fees directly to artists to support East Africans impacted by coronavirus

News

Blip Discs will pass all bandcamp fees directly to artists to support East Africans impacted by coronavirus.

The London-based label and brainchild of Tom Blip, Blip Discs, which features releases from Glowing Palms, Mubashira Mataali Group, O’Flynn, and Tom Blip & Swordman Kitala, has announced that all profits from Bandcamp sales will be passed straight onto the artist.

An accompanying statement from the label reads: “It’s a terrible time to be a musician in the world right now. Uganda is now facing the same lockdowns as the UK but with even more dire consequences for its musicians.

There is no statutory sick pay in Uganda. No NHS. If you go to hospital you pay. Let that sink in. Help us to support our friends at this time via purchases from our Bandcamp which we will be passing straight on to the artist.”
