Premiere: FDH ‘Carruthers’

Premiere: FDH ‘Carruthers’

FDH is releasing a new EP, ‘The Alpinist’, later this week on MEGANESIA. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Carruthers’ below.

Inspired by the alpine regions of south-eastern Australia where was raised, FDH – aka Fletcher Dobson Harper – delivers five taut and hypnotic acid-trance tools to accompany your next trip down the mountain or on the dancefloor. Upping the ante from previous singles ‘Hazardous Terrain’ and ‘Hadron Collusion (The Reactor)’, also released on independent Aussie imprint MEGANESIA, the Naarm-based DJ and producer fuses his trademark off-piste trance textures with thudding, sub-heavy kick drums and liquescent flecks of acid for maximum pay-off.

“The diverse styles in this EP are a reflection on my enjoyment of the range of sound and emotion which can be expressed through the medium of electronic music,” FDH shared on the project, which features three original cuts alongside remixes.

“I think this appreciation comes from my background as a DJ and how these emotions are utilised during a live DJ set. I have always found myself most inspired to produce after hearing sets which explore a variety of sounds, styles and tempos.”

Named after the continental plate which sits beneath Australia’s landmass, MEGANESIA is home to a flourishing inventory of releases from local artists across the hard dance spectrum, including WakeUpNeo, Willem, Loïcc and Mistr Dean.

To celebrate his contribution to the label, FDH is performing at Miscellania in Melbourne on 17th May alongside Disgrays, Faeryn and Jörmungandr – tickets are still available here.

‘The Alpinist’ is out 14th May via MEGANESIA. Pre-save the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Carruthers’ below.
