Premiere: OX7GEN ‘Simula Endzone’

OX7GEN will release a new EP, ‘Evenire’, later this week via HE.SHE.THEY. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Simula Endzone’ below.

After spending the first five years of his career at the forefront of India’s drum & bass movement, Mumbai-born, Goa-based producer Aditya Ashok continues to rove into new and experimental territories on his latest EP for UK-based label and promoter HE.SHE.THEY. Featuring three new original tracks plus edits, ‘Evenire’ maintains the cinematic sense of melody and drama that made the producer’s early releases for Hospital Records and RAM so numinous, with the addition of psytrance-infused melodies and cosmic acid house grooves.

“Although I’ve been known to play and produce drum & bass over the years, the songs that came out of my explorations in my new studio feel like I’ve finally figured out what I want to say,” OX7GEN shared on the new EP. “It’s the most authentic I’ve ever felt as a producer.”

The project warms up with the swung four-to-the-floor rhythms and tunnelling, trance textures of ‘Simula Endzone’ before plunging into the keyed-up progressive techno of ‘Neo Sensei’. Completing the euphoric arc that stretches across all of his projects, the Indian producer weaves an ethereal tapestry of submerged beats and harp-like pads on ‘W84U’: a testament to his ability to captivate across the sonic spectrum.

‘Evenire’ is out 15th March via HE.SHE.THEY. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Simula Endzone’ below.
