Gorillaz drop Elton John and 6lack collaboration, ‘The Pink Phantom’: Listen

News

Gorillaz have made a new track with Elton John and 6lack.

The Damon Albarn-fronted digital band first announced their latest project, Song Machine, earlier this year. They shared the first instalment, ‘Momentary Bliss’, featuring Northampton-born rapper slowthai and Slaves in February, and another track with Malian musician, Fatoumata Diawara, shortly after.

After French-British artist Octavian joined the virtual band members for Song Machine in June, as well as ScHoolboy Q and The Cure frontman Robert Smith, Gorillaz have teased their next installment, featuring legendary singer Elton John, and American rapper 6lack.

Announcing the collaboration on Twitter, Elton John shared a preview of ‘The Pink Phantom’, alongside an animation, writing that working alongside Gorillaz was a “no-brainer”.

You can check out the preview below, and listen to the full track on Gorillaz Youtube channel from 5PM today.
