Amazon pauses vinyl, CD and music merch orders due to coronavirus

News

Amazon has paused all vinyl, CD and music merchandise orders due to coronavirus.

According to Music Business Worldwide, the online retail giant will maintain this measure until 5th April at the earliest. The move is in order for household essentials and medical supplies to be restocked.

Orders for items already in Amazon warehouses will be processed, but labels and distributors will not see new shipment orders until they are notified.

A statement to sellers using the platform reads:

“We are seeing increased online shopping, and as a result some products such as household staples and medical supplies are out of stock.

“With this in mind, we are temporarily prioritizing household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products coming into our fulfillment centers so that we can more quickly receive, restock, and deliver these products to customers. For products other than these, we have temporarily disabled shipment creation.”
