Berghain is hosting limited-capacity “sound exhibitions”.

The Berlin club announced in March that they would be suspending “self-produced” events taking place, including Panoramabar and Säule, until 20th April surrounding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). 

While the pandemic escalated, Berghain’s doors remained closed to the public, but have now re-opened for limited-capacity exhibitions. The first show, titled Eleven songs — Hall at Berghain, is the brainchild of artistic duo Sam Auinger and Hannes Strobl.

Remaining at Berghain until the 2nd August, the sound installation has been designed to work its way through the vast empty chambers of Berghain, with curators telling visitors “you listen, you experience, you can close your eyes or leave them open and follow the sound across the room.”

In May, booking agencies in Berlin came together to launch a new advocacy initiative, representing live acts and DJs amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

More recently, the German governemnt announced they had extended the large events ban until at least October.
