Mark Sixma & Emma Hewitt Team Up On Festival Anthem “Raindrops”

Since last summer’s ‘Into My Arms’, Emma Hewitt’s been on a consistent singles trip, working in the closest of collaborations with an ever-growing number of electronic music luminaries. X’ing with Markus Schulz, Richard Durand, Ben Nicky, Orjan Nilsen and others, her mind’s been focussed on enhancing the artistic process, whilst blurring the line between original and remix.

That continued of Friday, as the next track to make the jump from Emma’s songbook to her discography is the one-of-its-kind ‘Raindrop’.

The best lyrics always leave something to the imagination. ‘Collide’ did it; ‘Warrior’ aced it and now ‘Raindrop’ makes it an incredible three-for-three. Narrated in the third-person, through her crafted metaphors Hewitt leaves cues & clues aplenty as to ‘Raindrop’s meaning. Weaving an evocative, intriguingly equivocal, and always emotionally charged tale, it’s one that’ll bring a deeper understanding with each successive listen.

The first X-er to work with Emma on ‘Raindrop’ is Mark Sixma and together they’ve developed it into a formidable, club-striking release. Bass throb, echoic fx and a broodingly tech-ish drive ultimately spark into its hyper-catchy, electro-tinged mainline.
