TSHA shares animated video for ‘Sister’: Watch
TSHA has shared a new video for her track ‘Sister’.
The animated visual was created by director Alice Bloomfield, and takes inspiration from manga, the Japanese style of comics and graphic novels. “Every single frame of the animation is hand drawn,” said Bloomfield in a statement. “I’ve never created anything on this scale before, but TSHA’s track was really nice to work with as it’s so open to interpretation.”
The visuals featured in the video were first shown in November 2022 at Outernet London, where they were screened within a four storey, floor-to-ceiling, 360-degree, 16k screen surface set-up. Bloomfield then re-edited and adapted the visuals for online to appear in the video, which you can watch below.
‘Sister’ is lifted from TSHA’s debut album, ‘Capricorn Sun’, which was released via Ninja Tune last October. The song was originally written during the UK’s first COVID-19-enforced lockdown after TSHA found out she had an older half-sister via her estranged father.
Speaking about the track itself, she said: “I’m very happy to have a new member of my family as I’ve not had much of that in my life. The song is an expression of all of those feelings.”
