Dialled In announces first names for September festival

Dialled In has announced the first acts for its September festival, which returns to Uplands Business Park, London, on Saturday 10th September, running from midday to 10PM.

Celebrating South Asian music and culture, artists on the festival’s bill include NTS Radio host Raji Rags, live outfit Panjabi Hit Squad, G33 of the Girls Don’t Sync collective, BBC Asian Network icon Bobby Friction, jazz-soul vocalist Tara Lily, dream pop singer Leo Kalyan, and DM.Recordings boss, D-Malice.

Elsewhere, Toronto’s Yes Yes Y’All party founder Nino Brown and Trinidadian Soca star Jus Now are both confirmed, while Weirdo Zine will present a two-hour takeover of alternative sounds, featuring dance punks Kill, Icon, and British Indian rocker, Maya Lakhani.

Meanwhile, Akademi are on site delivering dance workshops focused on improving physical and mental health, and Mehfil will showcase a selection of poets. Donna Leake and Haseeb Iqbal also feature with their Chessidency project, focused on tunes optimised for concentration and strategy. You can see the full line-up so far below.

Market stalls and art installations will also feature, and UNDR LNDN — a platform that supports and connects aspiring and emerging filmmakers — is running a film screening area showing works about the South Asian diaspora and culture.

2022 marks the third edition of the Dialled In festival, which debuted last September. Since then, the crew – a collaborative team from the Daytimers, chalo and No ID collectives – have held a venue takeover at EartH in Hackney, in addition to a host of partnerships and curated events, taking them from major London galleries to District 19, an alternative culture venue in Karachi.

“Our 10th September festival is the culmination of a busy summer. After throwing Boiler Room Pakistan, curating a V&A Late and a stage at Four Tet’s all-dayer in Finsbury Park, and then bringing Pakistani band Jaubi to the UK, our return to Walthamstow is a celebration of how far we’ve come in a year,” said a spokesperson for the festival.

Tickets for Dialled In are on sale now.
