On July 14th 2023, Sickick will unveil his astonishing transformation of Illenium’s hit track, “Eyes Wide Shut,” featuring Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker. This remix will involve a complete reconstruction of the entire production, incorporating fresh progressions and innovative sounds.

 

Sickick revealed, “I wanted to make sure I had control over all the elements, and it was really important to me to envision a sound that would sound great on large speakers in the large crowds that Illenium brings out to all of his events,” Additionally, the artist introduced a brand-new verse, showcasing his extraordinary talent and artistic vision.

 

When asked about the inspiration behind selecting this specific song for his latest creation, Sickick revealed his deep admiration for Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker. Being a long-time fan of both artists, Sickick couldn’t resist the opportunity to put his unique spin on the record after seeing Illenium collaborate with Avril. This incredible remix collaboration came about when Sickick’s creative director, Rayn, connected their team with Illenium’s, resulting in a historic partnership.

 

Contrary to the usual challenges faced when remixing songs, Sickick expressed that this project was a breeze. “I chose this track on purpose because I knew exactly what to do with it. Call it a voice from the heaven of angels if you will, but I didn’t have a single dull moment when constructing this track,” he shared. Demonstrating his exceptional talent, Sickick managed to complete the entire remix in just two days, without a single dull moment.

When asked about the emotions and messages he aimed to convey through this remix, Sickick’s response was simple yet powerful: “Energy! That’s it.” He described how he would close his eyes during production, envisioning the track being played in front of a massive crowd of 100,000 people, with hands raised high in the air—a truly epic release of energy. “I just want everyone to feel happy and lighter after having listened to the track,” he added. With his signature style and infectious energy, Sickick aims to leave a lasting impact on his listeners.

 

Looking towards the future, Sickick revealed his plans to focus more on creating original works. “I believe I’ve shown off my skills in the remix realm, and I will continue to do them, but now I’m fully focused on showing the world what I can do in the original area of my career, and I’m so excited,” he shared enthusiastically.
