Youth Music announces third round of NextGen Fund for aspiring creatives

UK organisation Youth Music has launched the third round of its NextGen Fund.

Launched last year with the help of Butterz co-founder and DJ Elijah, Youth Music’s NextGen Fund is an initiative designed to help young musicians during the early stages of their career in the music industry. With grants of up to £2,500 available, the fund aims to break down financial barriers that stop many from being able to break into the industry.

The fund is open to creatives aged 18-25, as well as disabled people up to the age of 30. Funding is only available to musicians and other music-based creatives that are based in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales.

Artists, producers, songwriters, DJs, A&Rs and more are all eligible for grants. Prospective candidates with no experience approaching organisations like Youth Music for funding are seen as a high priority.

Previous rounds of funding have helped people in founding and running new record labels, as well as working on projects covering a variety of music genres. The first round of funding saw grants go to 37 people, while a further 34 received money in the second round of funding.

Applications for this latest round of grants will close at 5pm BST on 25th May. You can find more information, and apply, here.
