Ultra Music Festival announce "Virtual Audio Festival”

Ultra Music Festival announce "Virtual Audio Festival”

News

With the news earlier this month that this year’s Ultra Music Festival would be postponed by a year as a result of the spread of coronavirus, or COVID-19, organisers have announced plans for a “Virtual Audio Festival”.

The festival has partnered with US broadcasting company SiriusXM for the launch of UMF Radio, which will broadcast the “Ultra Virtual Audio Festival”, starting this Friday, March 20th at 5pm ET.

The broadcast will feature exclusive DJ sets from a number of artists who were due to play at this month’s edition of Ultra Music Festival, including Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Major Lazer, Martin Garrix, and Above & Beyond. DJ sets from past editions of the festival will also be aired on the new station.

In addition to the postponement of this year’s Ultra Music Festival, Miami authorities also cancelled all pool parties in the city last week.

You can keep up to date with how the spread of the coronavirus is affecting the global electronic music scene here.
